THE ARTIST
Jeanette
James-Monk.
A love of colour.
A connection to the coast.
Jeanette is a self-taught, self-representing artist based in Cornwall, focusing on seascapes and coastal scenery in acrylics and mixed media.
Born to a Dutch mother and an English father, she spent her early years in a small Dutch village before moving to Nottinghamshire at the age of six. Art was her favourite subject at school, and later in life she returned to her passion for painting.
Frequent visits to Cornwall inspired a passion for painting seascapes, and Jeanette moved there in June 2019. The coast continues to shape her work, alongside memories of Derbyshire’s rocky ridges and sweeping moorland.
Her paintings have found homes around the world, and she has exhibited locally in Nottinghamshire. Each painting is individually produced and signed.
